Jennifer Oxford is a North Carolina attorney who focuses her practice in commercial real estate. She assists her clients with all aspects of their commercial real estate needs – from acquisition and financing, to development and leasing, to redevelopment, refinancing, and sales. With nearly 10 years of legal experience in North Carolina, she has served as the lead real estate attorney on a wide range of projects. Jennifer’s passion for real estate and the law, combined with an undergraduate degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in regional planning (and prior careers in both fields), positions her to understand her clients’ needs and provide relevant, real-world advice from her unique perspective.
Some of her representative matters include:
Jennifer joined MacDermid, Reynolds & Glissman, P.C.’s Raleigh office after practicing for nearly 10 years in the Triangle area. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer practiced with Raleigh-based firms Ellinger & Carr and Morningstar Law Group, as well as K&L Gates in their Raleigh office.
Jennifer has been designated as a North Carolina Rising Star in Real Estate in the 2019 and 2021 Issues of the North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine. The Super Lawyers designation is based on regional balloting by attorneys, third-party research, and a peer review process encompassing myriad practice areas. An explanation of the Super Lawyers methodology can be found here.
Before turning to a career in law, Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and afterwards spent a year as an engineer with the large international engineering firm Parsons Brinckerhoff Quade & Douglass, now WSP. She then earned her master’s degree in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and took a role as an urban planner with the Louis Berger Group, also now part of WSP, rising to the level of Senior Transportation Planner before attending law school.
Jennifer enjoys drawing on her experience as an engineer and urban planner – the time spent analyzing plans for development, and presenting before City and Town Councils – when she practices law and in her efforts to help her clients.
A native of Durham, and a graduate of Durham Academy, Jennifer enjoys swimming, running, and spending time with her family.
