Sara A. Sharp represents developers and individuals in land use matters across Connecticut. Her practice encompasses multi-family, mixed-use, retail, commercial, and industrial uses.
Sara works jointly with municipal staff and the client’s consultant team to review regulations and the intended development concept ensuring the client’s project can be brought to fruition. To facilitate approvals for applications across more than a dozen towns in the state, Sara has drafted zoning regulations and supporting documents outlining each development’s compliance with the relevant statutory and regulatory framework.
She has obtained approvals for a expanding fast-food restaurant across the state, often addressing traffic generation and site capacity. Sara successfully established a new Planned Development District necessary for the expansion of a residential education facility serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She guided an individual homeowner seeking to develop a working farm through a multi-part application process, including approvals from the wetlands and zoning agencies and modifications to key easements on the property.
In addition to her land use practice, Sara utilizes her litigation background to handle administrative appeals before the Superior Court, often defending her clients’ approvals from challenges by nearby property owners.
Outside the office, Sara is a long-time volunteer with the Women’s Business Development Council. She serves as an advisor to women-owned Connecticut businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs.
